The Grieving Brain Book Club &

Support Group

Learn more about the neuroscience of grief while reading and discussing The Grieving Brain by Mary-Frances O’Connor.

During the course of this program, participants will engage in discussions and reflections that pair peer-support and education while reading The Grieving Brain by Mary-Frances O'Connor.

The intent is to help participants to better understand the role of the brain in the grieving process, gain a sense of community, and to determine new or different ways to support mental and emotional needs during grief. The goal isn’t simply to analyze O’Connor’s ideas—it’s to create a safe, compassionate space where people can recognize themselves and their grief, understand their grief reactions, and discover ways of living with loss.

You will be provided with a packet for some supplemental materials that can be helpful aids as we make our way through this book, together.
