Caregiver and Anticipatory Grief Resources and Support

Quick Navigation

Caregiver Support

Caregiver: A loving caregiver transforms essential assistance into an act of profound connection and support, enriching the quality of life for both themselves and the person in their care.

Caring for someone through illness, aging, or disability can be both meaningful and overwhelming.

Virtual Family Caregiver Support Circle

Meets monthly on the first Thursday at 4pm (PT)/ 5pm (MT)/ 6pm (CT)/ 7pm (ET)

This group is a space for those providing full-time or part-time care to a family member or close friend. We welcome caregivers both before and after their death loss at any point in the caregiving journey. Topics may include:

  • Navigating medical systems and decision-making

  • Coping strategies for the emotional weight of caregiving

  • Finding connection in shared experiences

Anticipatory grief: The emotional pain, mourning, and psychological preparation that begins before an actual loss occurs. It involves experiencing the feelings of grief (sadness, anxiety, guilt) while the person or situation is still present, making it a confusing but natural process of mentally preparing for what's to come.

Anticipatory Grief Support

Virtual Anticipatory Grief & Self-Care Monthly Support Group:

Meets monthly on the third Thursday at 5pm (PT)/ 6pm (MT)/ 7pm (CT)/ 8pm (ET)

Join us in a supportive space to share, process, and learn more about grief when someone you, or someone you care about has received a terminal diagnosis (regardless of your role or relationship to the individual). Topics may include:

  • Managing the grief now, not just preparing for after the death

  • The many ways grief shows up when we are anticipating a loss

  • How to cope with emotions, handle tough conversations, and share ideas for taking care of ourselves and others in the upcoming days (weeks, months…) ahead
