Grief Networking Alliance

Please join us in kicking off the “Grief Networking Alliance”, a group of lay and professional caregivers supporting grievers in Colorado. Our first networking session will be sponsored by HeartLight Center and will meet quarterly at different locations. The group will provide an opportunity for attendees to share their area of expertise while gaining knowledge of other programs available to grievers. Facing the Mourning - Facilitator Training

  This program is designed for facilitators, bereavement counselors, social workers and those who support people who are grieving. The session trains participants to facilitate the HeartLight Center’s Facing the Mourning program at their location. Facilitator: Rachel Kodanaz Cost: $60 (includes the Facilitator manual)

Honorees:

Marguerite Ham -- A Mother who just lost her 20 year old son, Matthew, to an acceidental overdose of presecription drugs.  A Professional Speaker for 23 years, Marguerite founded the Eye of the Storm Foundation which educates teens, young adults and parents on the danger and misuse of prescription drugs.

Tom Hayden -- A recent cancer survivor and American Cancer Society "Hero fo Hope", sho let tragedy become a gift, transforming his mind, body and sould to share his story while aising awareness of cancer prevention, and the importance for patients and families to receive support and care.

Amy Pike -- Is a Survivor Outreach Services Support Coordinator for the Army; working to deliver on the Army's commitment to Families of the Fallen so that they know that they are ..."Never Forgotten and Never Alone".

Shane Phillips-- After sustaining the loss of his family as a teenager, Shane has focused his community service efforts towards helping others dealing with loss in their lives.

The group is designed to help people through the grieving process by using visual and thought provoking tools such as building memorials, journaling, writing letters, and developing future goals using milestones.
